iOS Performance issues

Hi,

We've launched the app on iTunes however there is a performance problem.

The app is barely responsive and animation skips about 99% frames.

You mean the app was working correctly before you put it on itunes ?
I'm not very familiar with Apple thing, all I can suggest if the app is slow on some device is to reduce the ar capture video size.
By default it's set on 640x480, try so set it to 320x240, before iphone 7 it was laggy because of the device capabilities.

Hi arkeon,

I din't test the app on the iOS since I din't have a device, however that was the feedback I received from the users saying the app is very laggy and the video is audible however it barely shows on the screen.

I've set the camera resolution to 320x240 in the project.

Do you think it has something to do with format of the videos? I'm using mp4 files with h264 codec which have been encoded with crf 28 and the veryslow ffmpeg preset. Is it completely compatible with apple?

No idea ^^, but if the video have a big resolution it can be the issue. make the video smaller.
Keep in mind that old apple device was very cheap for 3D and camera apps...

The current video resolution is 1920 x 1080. Can you suggest an appropriate resolution?

test 480p.
Do you know which devices are used when it's slow ?
Maybe it's more simple to allow only recent IOS devices ^^ Just like apple do wink
